Exclusive Photos of BBC Comedy Filmed in Cheadle

Stockport Citizen has gained exclusive photos of a BBC comedy filmed in a Cheadle betting shop on Monday 26th July.

The series called ‘The White Van Man’ stars Will Mellor, who is from Bredbury, and has appeared in Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps and Hollyoaks. Filming took place at Best Bet Bookmakers on Old Rectory Gardens, Cheadle from 7am on Monday morning.

The Manager of Best Bet Bookmakers, Anthony Burke, was asked to be an ‘extra’ in the background of the scenes. He features in some of the photos alongside Will Mellor and the production team.

A competition winner was also allowed to watch filming and meet the cast and crew. Frank Powner, from Cheadle, won a football competition run by Best Bet and claimed the prize of a pair of Chester Races tickets. He appears in photos alongside his son in law Noel Mahon, and Will Mellor.

Manager Anthony Burke revealed exclusively that filming will take place again at Best Bet in the future.
