Woodley back at top in Cheshire

In division 1 of the Cheshire Football League, Woodley have moved back to the top of the table, with a 3-0 win at Linotype/Cheadle HN. Trafford Reserves are now second after a 1-0 defeat at Eagle Sports, for whom Ged McAllister got the only goal of the game. Third placed Club AZ kept up the pressure on the leaders with a 2-0 win at Billinge. Knutsford were the high scorers of the day, putting seven goals past Styal in a 7-2 win. The other winners on the day were Gamesley, who edged a five goal thriller 3-2 against Pilkington, and Greenalls PSO who won 1-0 at bottom of the table Garswood United. The gamre between Golborne Sports and Middlewich Town finished level at 0-0
In division 2, there were lots of goals scored, with Tarporley Victoria, bouncing back from defeat at Warrington Town Reserves, with a 4-1 win at Barnton, also amongst the goals were Monk FC, who won 3-1 at Congleton Town Reserves and Whitchurch Alport, who won 3-2 at home to Daten. Malpas and Denton Town also scored three goals, in their 3-3 draw. League leaders Maine Road Reserves were surprisingly beaten 2-1 at Poynton. Moore United emerged victorius from their derby game with Warrington Town Reserves, seeing off their visitors 2-0 at Long Lane. The days other winners were Grappenhall Sports, who beat New Mills Reserves 2-0.

In divisional cup action Crewe FC defeated Lostock Gralam 4-3.

In the reserve division Middlewich Town won the battle of the top two teams, defeating Golborne Sports 2-0. Third placed Pilkington took the opportunity to keep up the pressure on the leaders, with a 3-2 win at Daten. Garswood United moved upto fourth placed with a 2-1 win at Styal.

In cup action, Gamesley defeated Crosfields/Rylands 2-0.
